Privacy Policy

How we handle your personal information.

This policy explains what personal information Jagged Consulting Ltd collects through this website, why, how long we keep it and what your rights are. We have kept it short and in plain English.

Last updated: October 2026.

Who we are

What this policy covers

This policy covers people who visit this website or contact us through it, by email or by phone. If we carry out work for you, how we handle any data involved in that work is set out in our agreement with you.

What we collect

When you use the contact form

We collect your name, email address, telephone number if you give one, and your message. The form sends these to us by email. They are not stored in a database on the website.

To protect the form from spam

The contact form has automatic spam protection. To stop the same connection sending large numbers of messages, the website records a scrambled, one-way version of your IP address (it cannot be turned back into the address) along with the times messages were sent. These records are deleted automatically, normally within an hour.

The form also checks each message for common signs of spam, such as several web links or typical sales phrases. Messages that look very likely to be spam are discarded automatically, and borderline ones are marked for us to check by hand. If you think a genuine message from you has not reached us, please call us on 020 3397 9573.

When you visit any page

Like almost all websites, our hosting provider's servers automatically log basic technical information when a page is requested: your IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring page and the date and time. These logs are used only to keep the website secure and working, and are kept for a limited period set by our hosting provider.

When you email or call us

If you contact us directly we will have whatever details you choose to give us, such as your name, email address, phone number and the content of your message.

We do not use analytics or tracking tools, and we do not collect any special category data (such as health or religious information) through this website. Please do not include that kind of information in a message to us.

Why we use it and our legal basis

Under UK data protection law we must have a lawful basis for using personal information. We rely on:

  • Legitimate interests to reply to your enquiry, to keep the website secure and to protect the contact form from spam and abuse.
  • Steps before a contract where you ask us about working together, such as requesting a quote.
  • Legal obligation where we must keep records, for example for tax and accounting.

We will not use your details for marketing, and we never sell or rent personal information.

Who we share it with

We only share your information with service providers who help us run the business, and only as far as they need it:

  • our website hosting provider, which runs the website and the contact form;
  • our email provider, which delivers and stores our email.

These providers act on our instructions and must keep your information secure. We may also share information if the law requires it.

Third-party content and links

The Ecologi badge at the bottom of each page is an image loaded from Ecologi's servers, so Ecologi will see your IP address and browser details when the page loads, in the same way any website does.

Links to Google Maps, LinkedIn and TeamViewer (our remote support tool) only contact those services if you click them. Once you leave our site, that service's own privacy policy applies.

Cookies

This website does not set any cookies and does not use any tracking technology.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that do not lead to any work: up to 12 months after our last contact with you.
  • If you become a client: records of the work and its billing are kept for six years after the end of the financial year they relate to, as UK company and tax law requires.
  • Spam protection records: deleted automatically, normally within an hour.
  • Server logs: for the limited period set by our hosting provider.

Transfers outside the UK

Some of our service providers may store or process data outside the UK. Where that happens, we make sure it is protected by UK adequacy regulations or by appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.

Keeping your information secure

The website is only available over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and we limit access to personal information to those who need it. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, so if you would rather not use the form, you are always welcome to phone us.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete your information;
  • ask us to limit how we use your information;
  • object to us using your information on the basis of legitimate interests;
  • ask for information you gave us to be passed to you or another organisation in a commonly used format.

Some of these rights depend on the circumstances. To use any of them, email gdpr@jaggedconsulting.co.uk. There is normally no charge, and we will reply within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy if the way we use personal information changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
